Giovanni's Ristorante is celebrating four years as part of Qualicum Beach's restaurant scene, as of July 2012. Having firmly established itself as a favorite among local clientèle and visitors alike, Giovanni's offers an exciting dining experience. Qualicum Beach is known for being a favourite Canadian retirement community and a great place to vacation, and has gained a reputation for 'closing down' early in the evening, lacking anywhere to enjoy a good meal past 8:00 pm. While there are many options in the area to grab a quick burger or a beef dip, complete with fries, if you are one of those people who have a more discerning palate and seek something more, you probably would have had to get the map out and fill up the gas tank to plan a night out. No longer!

Giovanni's Ristorante is open for dinner 7 nights a week, and people are packing in to enjoy Chef Giovanni's special 'course meals' prepared for an entire table, or to select from a full and varied a' la carte menu. Starting January 2012, Giovanni's is pleased to offer weekday lunch service from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Residents of, and visitors to Qualicum Beach no longer have to go out of town for an exquisite dining experience. In fact, Giovanni's, since opening in July 2008, has become a hot destination restaurant for residents and visitors from surrounding areas. An easy trip from close-by Parksville, Nanoose Bay and Nanaimo, guests are flocking to Giovanni's from as far afield as Victoria, Courtenay, Comox, Port Alberni and Campbell River, and even calling for reservations from the ferry over from Vancouver. Why? Because you can get off a later ferry at Nanaimo's Departure Bay and still make it to Giovanni's in Qualicum Beach for a great dinner before retiring to your vacation home or B&B. No more going to bed hungry when you arrive in town!

Why has Giovanni's become so popular, so quickly? Giovanni is passionate about Italian food, and has been cooking delicious, elegant meals for guests in his restaurants or home for nearly 30 years. He is a very talented and creative Chef, having trained in one of Calgary's finest Italian restaurants, La Dolce Vita in Bridgeland, and cooked at many other Calgary restaurants. He has owned, personally operated, and cooked in his own restaurants in small town Alberta, and knows how to please small town residents while drawing in the crowds from surrounding areas. He was featured as Chef-of-the-Month twice in Alberta's Action Magazine due to his popularity in High River. Giovanni's wife, Helen, plays a hands-on role in managing the front-end operations of the business and personally greeting customers at the door. "It is very rewarding to have our guests so enthusiastically welcome us to Qualicum and to hear them rave about my husband's food. Of course, I've always admired Giovanni's abilities, but I wasn't able to fully appreciate his talents until I saw with my own eyes how he delights people every night with his food. I absolutely love my career, and don't even feel like I'm working, as I get to visit with hundreds of amazing people every week," says Helen of her job.
